China X & Z Visa Medical Exam in Nairobi
We complete China's official Physical Examination Record for Foreigner, with the exam, blood group, HIV and syphilis tests, ECG and chest X-ray it asks for.
Who needs the China medical exam
Students staying in China longer than 6 months (X1 visa) and people going to work (Z visa) are usually asked for China's "Physical Examination Record for Foreigner". Tourists on an L visa are not.
The form is not part of the visa application at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Nairobi. It goes to your university, to your employer for the work permit, or to the immigration office in China for your residence permit. Many employers let you do the exam after you arrive in China, so ask yours first.

China visa medical: questions people ask us
Do I need a medical exam for a China tourist visa?
No. Tourist (L) visas don't need one. Students staying longer than 6 months and people going to work are usually asked for it by their university or employer.
Will a positive Hepatitis B result stop my visa?
Hepatitis B is not one of the grounds for refusal in China's Exit and Entry Administration Law. The official form does not include a Hepatitis B test.
What about HIV?
China lifted its entry ban on people with HIV in 2010. The current law lists serious mental disorders, infectious pulmonary tuberculosis and other infectious diseases that may seriously harm public health as grounds for refusing entry.
How long is the China medical exam valid?
6 months from the date of the exam.
Do I need a yellow fever vaccine for China?
Yes, if you are 9 months or older and travelling from Kenya. China asks for proof of vaccination from travellers arriving from countries with yellow fever risk. CA Medlynks does not offer yellow fever vaccination; get it at a designated yellow fever vaccination centre at least 10 days before you travel.
